Red Bull City Trial returns to Manchester this September
Manchester - Great Britain
Following on from the huge success of last summer's inaugural event, it can now be confirmed that Red Bull City Trial will be returning to Manchester this September, with Dougie Lampkin once again being the driving force in developing this event to a new and higher level. Saturday 21st September 2013 will see the second coming of this inspirational event that allowed thousands of non-specialist fans to access the sport of trials for the first time last year. Although Red Bull City Trial will return to Manchester, it will have a new home in the prestigious Exchange Square that is bordered by the Arndale Centre, the Corn Exchange and Selfridges on its three main sides.
In addition to its new location, Red Bull City Trial will boast a new event format to promote a higher level of sporting competition amongst the World class riders that have been invited to contest this year's trial. The elite entry of riders will go head to head in a dynamic shoot out that will see one rider crowned champion at the end of the three heats, which will take place during the day.
World renowned course designer Martin Lampkin has been tasked with creating a suitable challenge for the occasion and one that will reflect the best of Manchester whilst really pushing the boundaries of the riders' skills, and taking their riding to the next level.
Once again Red Bull City Trial will be a free admission event suitable for all age groups with no prior knowledge of the sport required, to enjoy what is sure to be another highly entertaining occasion of motorised two-wheel action.
Talking about the second coming of Red Bull City Trial, Dougie Lampkin stated. "The idea is a simple one, we want to build on the big success of last year's event. This time around we want to give the very best riders in the World the chance to come and ride a great event in the city of Manchester, which is better known for football clubs rather than trials, well that was until now!"
"After exploring several potential venues up and down the UK, Manchester earned the right to welcome back Red Bull City Trial. Exchange Square is an amazing location and is slap bang in the heart of Manchester's shopping area, so the crowds are guaranteed to be massive, which has got to be good for the sport of trials."
"Unfortunately I can't share the rider invitation list with you just yet, but the entry is going to be World class in every sense, as is the course which is really going to push the star studded line up that is planned." Ended Lampkin.
Further event details will be confirmed over the coming weeks, but in the meantime make sure Saturday 21st September is marked in your diary.
