NISSAN LIVE EVENT

MARBELLA, SPAIN

FRIDAY 25/11/11

Dougie Lampkin's - Gas Gas schedule remains as hectic as ever with the twelve times FIM Trial World Champion having just completed a two week stint in southern Spain as part of Nissan's European light commercial vehicle launch. Typically Dougie played a starring role as Nissan invited dealers and distributors from across Europe to sample their new models, with Lampkin adding a unique twist to the proceedings each day.

Thirty-five year old Lampkin was faced with a stiff challenge on a daily basis as the invited guests parked a selection of different Nissan commercial vehicles in their own chosen way before asking the trials legend to pick his way across and over the assembled montage. Using his vast experience and skill Dougie failed to disappoint as on each occasion, despite the best efforts of the guests, he completed the task in style much to the delight and amazement of the Nissan entourage.

During his two-week stay in Marbella, Lampkin was kept busy in between shows by making a series of videos and doing accompanying photo shoots to support and promote the Nissan Live event that welcomed hundreds of guests over its duration. This event marks the end of a successful first year of a two year agreement between Dougie and Nissan, that has seen the ex multi World champion play his part at various launch events and become the subject of a viral video that attracted global attention.

Lampkin spoke positively about his fortnight in the Spanish winter sunshine. "It's been a great couple of weeks and has certainly been a new experience for me, which is saying something when you look at the wide range of things I have done over the last twenty years or so."

"The concept of the guests parking the vehicles in their own pattern and then getting me to ride over them really worked well and was something quite different to anything I have done before. The guests really seemed to enjoy it and Nissan were pleased with the outcome too, so you can say it has been a successful two weeks all round especially as it has mainly been in the sun too."

With his bikes and bags packed once again, Lampkin will now head straight to Italy ready for tomorrow's opening round of the 2012 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship in Genoa, Italy. The Gas Gas factory rider will be looking to make a strong start to the three round campaign that will visit Poland early next month before concluding in Barcelona next February.
